Ode To Cold Meatloaf
(or maybe, it's "oh, da cold meatloaf")
Poetry By Will Dugan
I knew a man who boasted brash
Of cold meatloaf on wheat bread splash
With mayo,
Catsup,
And a slice of cheese.
Just munch and quaff with what you please.
With cooking done and loaf still hot,
It tastes just fine, but it is not
As good
As cold
For a late-night snack
Well worth the sneak out of the sack.
Or, in the bag that’s brown, for lunches,
Cold meatloaf is really scrumptious,
With mustard,
Pickle,
Or hot with spice.
There’s really nothing quite as nice
As cold meatloaf -
There’s no denyin’,
You know it’s true,
And I ain’t lyin’.
