The Turtle And The Poodle
Poetry By Will Dugan (Originally published under the Pen Name of Blind Melon Ugly Dude)
The turtle broke the huddle.
And the turtle jumped a hurdle.
But he fell into a puddle,
And the turtle was befuddled.
Then the turtle met a poodle -
A poodle that could doodle.
And the poodle's name was Kitt.
And the turtle's was Kaboodle.
Then the poodle broke the huddle.
And the poodle jumped a hurdle.
But he fell into a puddle,
And the poodle was befuddled.
Said the poodle to the turtle -
I think that we should huddle.
Said the turtle to the poodle -
And maybe leap that hurdle.
So, the turtle and the poodle broke the huddle.
And the turtle and the poodle jumped a hurdle.
And the turtle and the poodle fell into a puddle.
And, the turtle and the poodle were befuddled.
And, as it turns out -
The turtle and the poodle were stuck there in that puddle.
Never again to hurdle.
Destined just to huddle.
Said the poodle to the turtle -
The puddle's just a hole.
Said the turtle to the poodle -
Well at least you can doodle.
And the poodle's name was Kitt.
And the turtle's was Kaboodle.
And, there they are to this day -
(You may have heard of them!)
The hole, Kitt, and Kaboodle.
